Last month, Lenzing proudly attended the Heimtextil trade fair, the leading European event for the home textiles segment, in Frankfurt, Germany. As the first main fair following a two-year break during the pandemic, sustainability took center stage at the show. With this in mind, Lenzing showcased TENCEL™ branded fibers in two main applications: interiors and as a bending partner with hemp and linen.

Demonstrating the versatility for TENCEL™ fibers for interiors, Lenzing demonstrated various application possibilities for home and interior textiles including use in upholstery, curtains, and carpet and rugs. The expansion into new home sub-segments shows Lenzing’s potential to not only seize opportunities for business development, but to also bring sustainability into the homes of consumers and create more space for it in everyday life. On top of that, TENCEL™ fibers also enabled the final product to have numerous textile benefits, including softness, sheen, and wrinkle recovery.

The versatility of TENCEL™ fibers also lend themselves to being the perfect blend partner for hemp and linen fibers, a combination that has been explored in the apparel and home industry recently. At the fair, Lenzing shared the application potential of these blends for the bed linen and towel segments.

Outside of the aforementioned applications, TENCEL™ also saw interest grow in the use of TENCEL™ fibers for filled products, such as pillows and duvets, as brands seek suitable solutions to meet the rising demand from consumers for fully biodegradable products.
