Shinjintex has achieved the Grand Prize at the “K-Textile Awards,” for its innovative use of TENCEL™ fibers in a post-dyed fabric featuring a unique melange effect. The awards were hosted by the Korean Textile Export & Import Association and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. This recognition not only highlights Shinjintex's textile expertise but also unlocks TENCEL™ fibers’ endless potential in sustainable fashion innovation [1].
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are renowned for being regenerated [2] and biodegradable [3], earning them the EU Ecolabel certification (license no. AT/016/001). The fibers are sourced from responsibly managed forests [4], produced using resource-efficient methods [1], and are easily identifiable in the final product via tracking technology, contributing to a high level of quality, accountability, and transparency throughout the supply chain.
When combined with the resource-saving approach leveraged by Shinjintex, the fabric production significantly reduces the need for dyes, chemicals, and water, creating a balance between innovation and conscientiousness and showcasing a forward-thinking approach to textile manufacturing.
“We are thrilled to see Shinjintex recognized for their innovative and sustainable textile solutions using TENCEL™ fibers. Their award-winning fabric demonstrates the potential of combining eco-friendly materials with advanced cationic processing technology to achieve vibrant colors while minimizing environmental impact,” said Michael Lee, Head of Sales & Business Development in Korea & Taiwan of Lenzing. “This award underscores the TENCEL™ brand’s position as a sustainable solution in the textile industry. [1] [2] [3] [4] We are proud to partner with Shinjintex and look forward to embracing more innovation and collaboration to drive positive change in the fashion industry. [5]”
Mr. Seo Jung-sun, Head of Sales at Shinjintex, expressed pride in the recognition, stating, “We received high praise for introducing a fabric that combines sustainability with innovative designs in a wide range of colors. Going forward, we plan to continue developing differentiated eco-friendly fabrics containing TENCEL™ branded fibers.”
Shinjintex has also recently made waves at major international textile fairs, including Première Vision Paris and Milano Unica, where they showcased their unique materials made with TENCEL™ Lyocell and TENCEL™ LUXE. The positive feedback received at these events further emphasizes the growing demand for planet-friendly textiles in the global market.
As the textile industry continues to evolve and shift towards greater sustainability and transparency, Lenzing is committed to being at the forefront by helping position brands and partners, like Shinjintex, as key players in shaping a greener future. [1]
